They may not have any snob appeal but that doesn't matter to me. These are solid, well built guns that will last a lifetime. I shoot a 20g Rem Wingmaster and a 12g Browning BPS. The point of my comments is that as a guy with limited finances and a family to boot I have to be a "practical sportsman". ![]() F or XF for a few applications(turkey, etc). If I'm doing anything else than a M choke is fine. If I'm shooting grouse in heavy timber than a C or IC choke will be my choice. The simple truth is that a modified choke will work 95% of the time for what I shoot. Then there really IS a difference between the 2 barrels. The exception might be using something like a cylinder/full set up. I owned a Ruger RL once but it fit me poorly and I sent it down the road.Īfter patterning several double guns, autos, and pumps that I have owned I have come to the conclusion that having 2 differently choked tubes is nice but far from necessary. An older Baikal 12g that has been a great gun for me.
